Enable QR codes on your iPad kiosk to create a touchless check in process for your visitors and employees. With QR codes, visitors and employees, with or without reservations, can check into the office using their mobile device.
How to Configure QR Codes
As a default, QR codes are disabled for Visitor Management users, but it’s easy to enable this feature for your offices. To enable QR codes on your kiosk, go to Settings > Locations > Team Safety and enable the Touchless Check In toggle. Click on the preview link to see how the QR code will be displayed on your kiosk.
Visitor Check In Using a QR Code
If a visitor has an existing reservation, they simply need to scan the QR code and complete the check in workflow from their phone. Eden will recognize the user’s reservation based on the their email address. If the email does not match with an existing reservation, Eden will create an ad hoc reservation for the visitor.
Once the check in steps are completed, the visitor’s host will be notified that their guest has arrived. The visitor will also be checked in on the Eden dashboard on logged in your visitor history.
Employee Check In Using a QR Code
If an employee has an existing reservation, they simply need to scan the QR code and complete the check in workflow from their phone. Eden will recognize the user’s reservation based on the their email address. Their email must match an existing user’s email in your Eden account. Registered employees can also still check in directly on the iPad kiosk.
If an employee does not have an existing reservation, they can create one by signing in using the QR code. The employee simply scans the QR code, enters their Eden account email address, and completes the check in workflow from their phone. When the employee signs in through the QR code, their reservation will be accounted for as a drop-in reservation on trhe Eden dashboard and in your reservation history. Drop-in employees cannot check in through the iPad kiosk –– they can use the QR code option as well as the Eden dashboard, mobile app, or Slack/Teams integrations to make a reservation.
