Overview
QR Code Check-In is a fast, contactless visitor check-in method. When a visitor is pre-registered, Eden automatically sends them a QR code via email. At the office, they present the QR code to a wall-mounted iPad, and check-in is instant.
When QR Code Check-In is enabled, Multi-Step Entry Settings, Delivery Shortcut, and Guest Check Out are automatically disabled.
How It Works
For visitors:
Receive a QR code by email when invited
Present the QR code to the iPad kiosk on arrival
Audible "ding" confirms a successful check-in; an alternative alarm sounds if the code is declined
For hosts and admins:
Valid check-ins are logged on the web dashboard with a timestamp
Declined visitors trigger an automatic notification to designated individuals
Admins can view and manage all visitors; individual users can view and manage their own
How to Activate
Step 1: Enable QR Code Check-In in Settings
Go to Settings > Locations, find your location, and toggle on Enable QR Code Check In.
Step 2: Configure the iPad
On the iPad, set the device mode to Static QR Code Device. This locks the iPad into a camera-forward state for QR scanning.
Important: A dedicated iPad is required for QR Code Check-In. Each iPad can only run one mode at a time. An iPad set to Static QR Code Device cannot simultaneously run standard Visitors mode. If you want to offer both check-in methods at the same location, you will need two separate iPads -- one set to each mode.
Step 3: Test the flow
Send a test visitor invite to your own email and walk through the check-in to confirm the QR code scans correctly and the confirmation sound plays.
Tips
Make sure your iPad is mounted at a comfortable height for visitors to present their phone or printed QR code.
Designated notification recipients for declined visitors are configured under Settings > Visitors & Team Safety > Configurations > Notifications.
